Anne Jungjohann
Schwarzweißmalerei Nr. 1, 2022
Acrylic and ink on canvas, 80 cm x 91 cm x 6 cm
About the Works
By displaying the folded canvas and visible traces of the painting process, her object-like paintings have a strong physical presence and emphasise the human traces of analogue production. Even though the motifs and forms of her works are inspired by the aesthetics of emojis and screensavers, they present a stark contrast to flat and immaculate digital surfaces.
